If you choose to make Castaways the base for your holiday, there is a great choice of things to do and places to visit a short drive away. If you are an astronomer we are told it is a great place for stargazing. You may even see a seal from our beach. There are too many places to visit to list, but here are a few ideas for a great days out…
Norfolk Broads at Wroxham
Why not go boating or fishing on the famous Norfolk Broads or find a waterside pub and watch the world go by. You can hire boats from Wroxham, located only 11 miles from Castaways. To learn more about the Broads, see what the Broads Authority have to on their website.
North Norfolk Railway
Spend a day shopping and sightseeing in Norwich or visit the Castle Museum or Norwich Cathedral. Norwich is famous as the home of Coleman’s mustard and Norwich City Football Club. Norwich is the cultural centre of East Anglia and offers a wide selection of theatres, art galleries, cinemas, shops, restaurants and bars.
Take the kids crabbing on the Cromer Pier and then go and relive the good old day at the famous end-of-pier seaside special!
BeWILDerwood is a wild and imaginative adventure park with magical treehouses and a hint of intriguing characters, bringing a curious difference to the Norfolk Broads. The setting for the book, ‘A Boggle at BeWILDerwood’ by local children’s author Tom Blofeld, is a wonderful, mystical land of brave, adventurous creatures who you may never see anywhere else in our world. Parents are encouraged to play alongside their children, which makes for a fabulous and brilliantly exciting day out for the whole family!
