Places to Visit in Norfolk
If you choose to make Castaways the base for your holiday, there is a great choice of things to do and places to visit a short drive away. If you are an astronomer we are told it is a great place for stargazing. You may even see a seal from our beach.

Norfolk Broads
Go boating or fishing on the famous Norfolk Broads. If you prefer, find a waterside pub and watch the world go by. You can hire boats from Wroxham, located only 11 miles from Castaways.
North Norfolk Railway
Take a nostalgic trip on a steam train from Sherringham to Holt or www.nnrailway.co.uk

Or take the Bure Valley Railway from Wroxham to Alysham
Racing
Go to Great Yarmouth or Newmarket Flat Racing or Fakenham National Hunt Racing. There is also greyhound racing and motor racing at Great Yarmouth Stadium.

Norwich
Spend a day shopping and sightseeing in Norwich or visit the Castle Museum or Norwich Cathedral. Norwich is famous as the home of Coleman’s mustard and Norwich City Football Club. Norwich is the cultural centre of East Anglia and offers a wide selection of theatres, art galleries, cinemas, shops, restaurants and bars.
Cromer
Take the kids crabbing on the Cromer Pier and then go and relive the good old day at the famous end-of-pier seaside special!
Great Yarmouth
Visit Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach and then catch a show with circus performers and comedians including Jethro, Jimmy Carr and Roy ‘Chubby’ Brown.

Wildlife
Simply explore the countryside with nature reserves at Cley, Blakney, Brancaster and Hickling Broad where you might be luck enough to see a rare bittern. Take a boat trip from Morston Quay to see the seals at Blakney Point.
